When Emily relocated here from a tiny mountain town in Colorado, she knew she'd found something special. In one day, she and her family hiked on Mount Baker, took a gander at the Nooksack River, drove through a plethora of berry fields on their way to a grocery store in Bellingham, hit the beach in Birch Bay and walked along the streets of Blaine. Now, that may not sound exciting but is it not amazing that in less than 10 hours, they explored a mountain and high mountain lakes, a river, agriculture, a city and a beach????!!!! Wow! Now, that's impressive!

Whatcom County is a true gem of a place; and the people who live here are no different. Whether you prefer a cute bungalow in the Cornwall neighborhood, a rambling Edgemoor estate, a condo in Fairhaven or perhaps a 5 acre mini-farm in the county, a Mt. Baker view in Ferndale, or maybe a quaint home in Blaine, you can find it here. People are kind and friendly, always eager to share their favorite spots with new-comers. There is no shortage of activities or events! There is always something to do, whether it's on Western Washington University's campus, at the Fairhaven Green or the Lynden Fairgrounds, you can always find some fun event to attend.
